• We will challenge residents to come up with their best solutions to bringing solar power into their community.  Help us to find the most practical solutions and these will be shared with others all over the world.  The aim is to provide enough power to charge small at-home devices such as phone chargers, fans, lamps, sewing machines, and boost the overall capability and safety of Liberian families.

About The Project

$5000 target
$100 currently invested

This is an opportunity for investors to provide 80% of Liberian families with access to a portfolio of researched clean energy options, these products being safer alternatives to the toxic gas generators currently being used. With access to energy and lighting, entrepreneurs across the country will be able to work into the darker hours of the night and fuel their business development not to mention the added benefit of security and general family comfort.
The price range for the current product display ranges from 4,000 to 18,000 LIB (20 - 90USD).

Backstory

In Liberia currently, only 34% of the country has reliable access to energy. Of that group, the majority resides in the countries capital, Monrovia, and is dependent almost exclusively on a hydroelectric plant built in the 1960s. In some rural cases, the families rely on loud gas generators despite the safety risk. The result is that a huge majority of the country lacks access to energy and therefore light. Those families who have been able to find a dependable solution have significantly increased their productivity and quality of living - our goal for the whole country. One of the biggest challenges thus far has been finding feasible pricing for products, as well as supply chain backlash due to the COVID pandemic.
