About The Project

FULLY FUNDED

$250 is needed immediately to purchase medications, first aid supplies, etc.
$75 has already been provided by Nelson and his family

Nelson is providing essential medicines. He has already shown that he has the skills to grow his business.  In early March before the Covid lockdown, Nelson got a $100 investment.  In one month he was able to increase his sales and grow his revenues 340%.  He now needs the additional investment to continue to provide essential medicines during and after covid-19.

Nelson very early on saw an important need for the people in his community to have easier access to life saving medication. In Africa malaria is endemic, being the number 1 major health problem. He plans to use your investment to expand his Medicine Store. With your investment he will purchase paracetamol (tylenol), ampicillin and penicillin antibiotics, and rubbing alcohol.  Along with purchasing those medications he will buy more malaria medications. He also will buy first aid supplies. He plans to eventually expand his medicine store to become a very small clinic that admits 4 patients.

.....Nelson says "the investment will help me purchase goods at low cost and I will not have to spend for transportation to go to Monrovia to buy goods"

Paying it Forward

Nelson is very helpful to others.  He wants to eventually start a small clinic with medicines to help the community.  He has helped more than four other business people to start and expand their businesses this last year.  During Covid, his brother had a leaky roof.  Nelson used his money to buy a sheet of zinc roofing to repair the leak.

Backstory

LB0044:  Nelson Diggs, 51 was born in Johnsonsville , Montserrado County, Liberia. After graduating from the Teacher's College in Sierra Leone, he returned to Liberia to teach. Later he attended the Jimmy E. International School of Health located in Buchanan. Living was difficult, so he embarked on an Agriculture project and started planting cassava in 2017. Today, he has a cassava farm in addition to starting his medicine store.  He has 5 people working for him in the cassava farm that he compensates monthly. Each person receives about $2000 LRD equivalent to $10 US.  Entrepreneurial in spirit he has always wanted to open a mini drug store in Buchanan. He cares about people and their health. Seeing that his community has access to much needed medications is fulfilling his dreams. In time he envisions the expansion of his medicine store, to become a mini clinic as well, taking care of up to 4 patients.  He has a total of 5 in his household.
