About The Project

$850 needed to purchase a pig and materials to build a sty
$285 contributed by Emmanuel towards his project

With an initial investment Emmanuel bought a piglet and built a sty. He also diversified his crops and started planting tomatoes. With future investments his goal is to continue to diversify his farming business by raising cows, sheep and chickens. He will use the manure from the animals as an organic fertilizer to increase his crop production and milk will be added to the family diet. Sales of both the manure and milk can be an additional stream of income from his farm.

Paying it Forward

Emmanuel is involved with his community constructing feeder roads to help improve the road system in and around his village.

Backstory

Emmanuel lives with his wife and ten children. All of the children are in school and he has struggled at times paying the tuition. As with other families in his village, safe drinking water is a challenge, and he hopes there will be a community effort to build water storage tanks. Emmanuel was hospitalized for several months for some mental health issues but now he is better and thankful that this is behind him.
