About The Project

Scovia Kyomukama is a farmer who has been growing maize and beans for some time and it has helped her to provide for her family. She now plans to increase acreage of her farming by hiring more land, buy improved seeds, and hire more labor. When she received $100 from CII Project, she used it to buy hens and pigs, and these will help her to get money to invest in her farming when the season starts. 

She believes that will improve her income, and improve welfare of her family 


Paying it Forward

Scovia believes expansion of her maize farming business will create jobs for casual laborers who support her on her gardens. 

Backstory

Scovia Kyomukama is a single mother who lives with her 7 children and another one child who is a relative.
Farming is her main occupation and besides maize, she also grows beans, millet, and some chicken and pigs. She likes her community because it has fertile soils, and she is happy that she has been able to construct a good kitchen, but she is unsatisfied with the quality of education in her community.
