About The Project

Janette Kiromba sells food items like maize, maize flour, and cassava flour to her community members from her home in Base Camp 4 trading centre, Rwamwanja.

She buys the items from mobile suppliers, markets and from Ugandan host communities neighboring the settlement.

She plans to expand her business by selling more food products if she gets more funds

Paying it Forward

Janet’s business benefits many other people such as boda-boda riders who buy items for her from neighboring Ugandans

Backstory

Janet is a 42-year-old woman who lives with her husband and their 9 children, 6 of whom are in school. Janet and her family members are refugees from Congo who have lived in Rwamwanja for 7 years.

They are proud that they have their own house and a business, because life in their earlier days as refugees was hard.
