About The Project

Gerald Katale grows bananas in his village in Mahani 2 in Kamwenge. He sells the bananas to businesswomen who sell food items in the trading centre and to young men who buy bananas and transport them to markets and bigger towns. 
He wishes to invest in improving the quality of his plantation through applying manure


Paying it Forward

As a youths leader, Gerald supports youths in form of linking them to opportunities and resources so if his businesses expanded, he would mentor other youths to engage in commercial farming and other businesses.

 

Backstory

Gerald lives with his wife and their 3 children. His main challenge has been lack of enough money to improve his business but he appreciates CII Project for giving him some money. 

Gerald is a local leader who represents youths in his town council, and he mobilizes his community members to participate in government programs
