• This project aims to sell fresh tilapia fish. These fish are caught from Lake Victoria. I sell door-to-door retail and also in my booth. I am asking for your donation. The money I get will be directed to the purchase of a large refrigerator to store my fresh fish so they don't spoil.

About The Project

I started this project of selling fish in 2016 after the death of my husband, something that made life difficult while taking care of my family alone. I started my project with a capital of 50000 Tanzanian shillings. In the morning I go door to door and in the evening I arrange my fish on a table and sell them along the road. My project is what helps me take care of my family of four including me and my three children who are still studying. I need to have a special center to sell my fish because I am very tired of walking fish from house to house. I need a large refrigerator that will also help me avoid losses caused by fish rotting.

Paying it Forward

The project will create employment opportunities for youths who will be bringing me fish in abundance. Also, if you donate to this project, you will have helped my children fulfill their dreams of education because this project pays for the cost of pens and exercise books they need in their schooling.

Funding Report

Backstory

My name is Joselyn Mdachi, I am a widow and mother of three children, Jamila, Fele, and Maige. All my children are in secondary school. I started my business selling fish to be able to serve my children by providing them with food, clothing, and shelter and paying the water and electricity bills. I thank God that I can earn money to support my family even though it only enables us to survive, not thrive. Through funding this project I can get a bigger profit and do more than I am able to right now.

The biggest challenge I have is going door to door with a fish tank and selling the fish. I don't have a refrigerator to store fish to prevent them from rotting. Because of this, I am sometimes forced to sell my fish at a loss. I need a big refrigerator that will help me do my business happily and productively and avoid the losses from rotten fish.
