About The Project

Deus Mugoha is a farmer who has been rearing pigs alongside other businesses; he had a milling machine, but he sold it because its operation costs were too high. He has now decided to concentrate on piggery as his main business because pigs have high demand in his community, and he has the experience in rearing them. He plans to buy more pigs and improve management of the project.

He hopes that will increase his income, increase market for maize millers who sell animal feeds and provide affordable piglets to other farmers


Paying it Forward

Deus is happy that if his piggery project expanded, it would benefit many people through jobs, market for animal feeds, and constant supply of pigs to pork joints.

Deus is a 73-year-old man who lives with his wife and four grand-children who are in school. Deus is also a religious leader, and his wife also supports him in farming. 

He likes his community because it has fertile soils and there is unity among people, and he is happy that he is able to provide basic needs of his family

Lack of safe water sources, and low prices of crops are challenges in his community
