About The Project

Consoranta is a farmer who grows multiple crops for food and selling but specializes in piggery as a business. When she received $100 from CII Project, she bought one pig out of it and invested the rest in a garden and saving in a local saving group. She plans to expand piggery by buying more pigs and constructing for them if he gets more resources

She believes this will improve her income and the welfare of her family


Paying it Forward

Consiranta says that expansion of her business would be a good thing for the community because she is a church leader who contributes her own resources and mobilizes others to keep the church going well

Backstory

Consiranta is a 69-year-old woman who lives with her relative who has a wife and their four children. Besides piggery, Consiranta grows maize, beans, and coffee and the man I live with is a casual laborer who rears people's cows and gets paid. 
She likes her community because it's developing very fast - has good roads, businesses and a growing trading center. 

She is proud that through farming, she has bought 3 pigs, but she is concerned that her community lacks water and the prices of commodities in shops have increased so much.
