Confidence Piggery Farm

  • Confidence is a farmer in who has a piggery project in Mahani 2, Kamwenge district in Uganda. She buys piglets and rears them and sells them when they mature or sell piglets when they produce. She plans to expand this project by stocking more pigs

About The Project

Confidence has been rearing pigs for two years and she says the experience she has acquired is good for her business. When she received a financial support of $100 from CII Project, she used it to build a shelter for pigs and used the balance to buy feeds for them and her pigs are now looking better. She plans to expand the business by increasing the number of pigs on her farm from four to about six.

She believes that will increase her income, allow her to meet all her family needs. She will also be able to help her friends with money or breeds of pigs they may need


Paying it Forward

Scovia believes her piggery project will provide market for drugs and feeds which she buys for her pigs

Backstory

Confidence is a 27-year-old woman who lives with her husband and their two children. Her husband is a motorcycle mechanic and besides piggery, they also have chicken and grow maize and beans. She likes her community because they have land for farming, and she is also proud that she has been able to buy four pigs.

She says their community needs more schools and water.
