About The Project

My project started in 2019, after I finished my vocational training in carpentry. My big plan is to make this workshop a small center to generate wealth, provide experience to young people as well as provide training to young people. The result of this project is when young people get experience and training to strengthen their skills for their current and future lives. Also produce products with understandable quality. The big goals are to produce products for profit including empowering my fellow youth mentally and economically by 2025.

Paying it Forward

This project will produce will also help young people to acquire and strengthen their skills for earning their own income. I have my fellow young people who have been coming here to learn carpentry for free. I will continue to provide training for free to enable young people to learn and later become self-employed.

Backstory

My name is Dennis Muya resident of Mwanza City, Tanzania. I am 28 years old and single yet. I started this carpentry project after being helped by my brother Andrew who is also a carpenter. My brother gave me a few tools to start work such as a hammer, saw, nails, scissors and tape measure. Since I started this job, I have managed to add some materials in my workshop, such as paint, varnish, and chisel, in small quantities. About CII, I got to know about it through Dickson who I pray with in the same church. I would like to be a part of this project that aims to raise people with low income. Among the challenges I am going through are the lack of tools and the complete lack of some tools as I listed at the beginning. Also, powers outages sometime contribute to some days we don't do work related to electric machines, thus why I asked for a small emergency generator. So I am asking for your help so that I can solve this challenge.
