About The Project

Asiat is a food retailer who buys fresh food items from farmers and sells to her neighbors in Mahani trading centre. When she received an investment fund from AVSI, she invested part of it her business and she plans to further expand her business when she gets more funding.

She is committed to expanding her business because she thinks it will help her educate her children and meet her family's needs


Paying it Forward

The business will employ many youths who transport the food items she buys from farmers or to markets. 

Backstory

Asiat Katusiime lives in Mahani with her husband and their 3 children and one relative. 
The main challenge she had was lack of access to any money to start a business but her hard work enabled her to start and CII investment also helped her to expand.

Asiat says they are concerned with the lack of good schools in their community
