• Agnes is a hardworking and talented seamstress whose goal is not only to provide for her family of four but also to uplift the greater community. With her first small investment she was able to increase her earning by 200% before Covid. Under the Covid lock down she was hired to make masks and may get other contracts. She only has a foot powered sewing machine but hopes to someday have electricity and an electric sewing machine

About The Project

$400 is the amount Agnes needs to build a shop to expand her tailoring business
$100 is the amount she has already saved and pledged to invest toward that goal

With only a $100 investment Agnes increased her sales by 200% before the lock down from the coronavirus.  Now she is getting contracts to make masks to prevent the spread.  And she makes them with only a foot pedal sewing machine.

Agnes would like to build a tailoring shop in 2020 to 2021 and expand her business by buying an additional sewing machine and more lappa fabric for ladies’ clothes. The additional income from selling the clothes in the community will allow her to provide jobs for other members of the community.  Since sewing is her talent, the investment will allow her to train or teach others in the community how to sew, thus allowing them to earn their own money and improve their living standard.  Some day soon she hopes to get an electric sewing machine and solar panels to power it

Paying it Forward

Agnes knows that education is really important and she uses her earnings to help at least 4 students with school fees and supplies. In May she helped her sister to start a business so that she can become more independent. If she receives this investment, she will commit to investing in four other families to help them improve their lives.

Backstory

LB0038:  Agnes E. Moore started sewing clothes on her own in 2007. Agnes learned how to sew from one mother Mary Sieh in 2003. As an apprentice, she was learning under her up to 2006. At that time, she was sewing from a rented machine But she now has her own foot pedal machine. She is supporting her family from the sewing business. She also helped other extended family members and close friends. Her plan is to expand the sewing business by having her own shop. With that talent, she would like to train others to acquire similar skills. Her prayer is that God will make her to become a great seamstress.
