Marie Zernovoj project funding has been approved - Magic FM Sustainability Resource Center
    December 22, 2020
Magic FM Sustainability Resource Center - Project funding has been approved.
There are more than 50 community radio stations registered with the Press Union of Liberia. Low income is one of the major problems affecting the community radio stations around Liberia. This accounts for high attrition rates of trained journalist. Most radio stations are staffed by volunteers who are not trained, professional, educated journalist. This is a major problem that results in sublevel journalist content. Excellent journalists are needed to write powerful, truthful, impactful content that will keep the Liberians well informed in all subject matters.

Marie Zernovoj the project Keep our Hospital in Buchanan open
    November 23, 2020
Keep our Hospital in Buchanan open didn’t reach it’s goal in the assigned time frame
The citizens in Buchanan (pop.34,270)  collaborated and helped raise money collectively to keep their only hospital in Buchanan open. They also formed a committee, Help Save the Liberian Government Hospital to help fund raise for their hospital, which was having a very difficult time accessing funds from the government. The hospital reopened in October 5, 2019 after the Help Save the Liberian Government Hospital raised over $23,602. The hospital was closed after it had suffered two major fires in 2018. When the hospital was shut, a pregnant woman died and when there was a major bus accident access to emergency care was not available. Now opened, the hospital's projected patient load can be upwards to 10,000 per month.

Marie Zernovoj has donated the project Fundamentals of Computer Technology
    October 5, 2020

Hi Everyone, Join me on donating to this amazing project! Elijah's dream of expansion and creating computer hubs in different locations in Liberia and his goal of educating many Liberians in technology should be supported.

    Dontated $100.00
to this project - Fundamentals of Computer Technology
LB0018: Elijah has an Associate of Arts Degree in Computer Science. His desktop publishing business began in 2015, with only two computers and a printer at a bus stop. Over the past few years, he has renovated a shop and moved his equipment there for operation. In 2019, he was able to buy three laptop computers and install a solar panel as a source of energy for the business. Due to economic challenge, Elijah has been unable to continue with the computer training that he was doing. His business serves as a source of income for himself, his family, and the extended families that he often helps as well. Expanding his business will serve as a means of giving back directly to the community, potentially providing employment while also helping to develop the minds of young people.

Marie Zernovoj has created the project The Fishing Village
    September 5, 2020
Created a new project The Fishing Village
5 years ago (~ 2015) the fishing village received  attention from the World Bank which committed to financing a storage facility and freezer. What eventually happened was that the funding was turned over to a contractor that only finished the building then ran off with the funds for the freezers and other items. Now the villagers are each investing into the initiative to finish the project. They have collectively saved $4500 in the last 3 years. This resident driven project will improve the lives of over 200 families, will double their income by selling more fish (because of the freezer) and provide electricity/water  to most of the village.
