About The Project

Sarah has been growing maize and beans for sometime and she says she now considers it a business because it's her source of income and its where she invests her money. Her family members support her with labor and they are all passionate about farming and proud of what they have achieved from it.


Paying it Forward

Sarah is a member of several social and self-help groups and she hopes to help others if her business expands

Backstory

Sarah Uwimana is a woman of 42 years and she is a single mother who lives with her 5 children and other relatives, including her mother. She has lived in Rwamwanja for 10 years. Besides growing maize, she is also a poultry farmer.

She is happy that Rwamwanja is peaceful compared to her country of origin - Congo - and she is proud that she lives in her own house.
