About The Project

Ruhara Bikamiro is a farmer who specializes in growing maize and irish potatoes in the neighboring host community villages. In this season, he harvested over 30 bags of maize and sold at very good prices.

Ruhara and his family are very hardworking and committed to their occupation – during the farming season, they build temporary houses and stay in their gardens in the host community and fully return after harvesting

He plans to expand his farming by hiring more land and improving the care for his crops


Paying it Forward

Ruhara's projects provide jobs to some community members especially boda-bodas and trucks which carry his produce from the Ugandan village to his home, if he doesn't sell from there. 

Backstory

Ruhara is a 41 year old man who lives with his wife and 8 children and a few other orphaned children who are his relatives. All the children are in school - in primary and pre-primary. Ruhara and his family are refugees from Congo and they have lived in Rwamwanja for 10 years.

He is happy that Rwamwanja has schools and children go to school and there is security and he is happy of what he able to achieve with his family through their dedication to agriculture
