About The Project

$900 needed to purchase more inventory for his store
$160 contributed by Stephen towards his project

From an initial investment Stephen increased his stock of merchandise and saw his sales go up. With future investments he will need to rent a larger space to hold larger quantities of products as he transitions to a wholesale business. He sees this business model as a benefit to his community as he will be able to offer more products, without needed travel or increased prices due to transport costs.

Paying it Forward

Stephen believes his business will benefit the community by cost savings and access to a variety of products.

Backstory

Stephen and his wife have a four year old daughter. His wife, Molly, provides most of the labor in the family garden where they sell potatoes, wheat, beans and maize. They hope to become great farmers. The family has faced some medical hardships, were in debt, but have been able to settle the debt. He wants to participate in community improvement projects such as encouraging the planting of trees to help with soil erosion and sanitation workshops and any other project that will improve the district.
