$900 needed to purchase a sheep and chickens for her farming business
$285 contributed by Aphia towards her project
With an initial investment Aphia bought a sheep and contributed to a local SACCO (Savings and Credit Cooperative Organization). She will use the manure from the sheep as an organic fertilizer to increase her potato production and kitchen garden vegetables. She has benefited from learning about other families projects. When her savings goal is reached she plans to buy another sheep and sees a way to generate income from raising more sheep. Having some extra money is a great improvement in her life.
She works with her neighbors and friends on various pathway projects to make the community better linked to homes and trading centers.
